Pissouri Village Taverna

Pissouri Village and the Beach

Situated on the south coast of Cyprus, Pissouri nestles 1,000 feet above sea level overlooking the bay. There are extensive views sweeping up to Mount Troodos and over to the Limassol Peninsula. The population is made up of approximately 750 Cypriots and 250 ex-pats, half of which are permanent residents.

Over the last year the village square has been repaved and now sports new restaurants and tavernas to accommodate the many tourists who accidentally find our village.

Not many travel agents advertise Pissouri, so as yet it remains quiet and tranquil throughout the spring and winter months. The Cypriot villagers are more than happy to help with settling in process and their friendliness is unsurpassed.

The beach is clean and the sea safe to swim in all year round. Water sports of all types can be found down at Pissouri beach along with beach tavernas and a fine four star hotel for those who require holiday accommodation.

The Cyprus tourist organisation has appointed four hotels as highly recommended but there is no shortage of accommodation in the village and in surrounding private villas with or without swimming pools.

If your interests are walking or hiking Pissouri is an ideal setting-off point, located equidistant between Paphos, Limassol and the Troodos Mountain foothills. Throughout winter snow can be clearly seen covering the mountain top and an expedition in a four wheel drive is a must.

Pissouri is one of the most beautiful villages with it's cliff top walks, it's vineyards, Carrob trees, Olive groves and sandy beaches. It's just got to be seen to be believed.

So whether it's a holiday you're after or a holiday or retirement home you won't go far wrong with Pissouri.
